About

Born in 1973 in Southampton England, Mark Hamlet was always destined to work with music. In 1981 Mark emigrated to the city of Wollongong, Australia with his family and received his first guitar at the age of 14. Being heavily influenced by artists such as Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Def Leppard, Cinderella, Queen and Europe at this time Mark set about creating his own style.

By age 15 Mark and long time friend James Stewart Keene entered the recording studio with producer Ed Lee for the first time. The trial by fire lasted only 4 hours but opened up a whole new world. By the time Mark was 18 he was very familiar with the inside of a recording studio and had been working with other musicians such as Paul Berryman and David Joinking.
In 1997, Mark began writing with friends Murray Piper and James Stewart Keene to form studio act Pro-Active and was back in the studio in 1998 and 1999 working with The Robertson Brothers to produce “The Greatest Game”, an alternative Rugby League Anthem. The track was used by WIN TV for its regional football show Kick Off. This was Mark's first foray into digital recording technology.
In 2006, as a full member of APRA, Mark became frustrated with excessive studio fees and studio time booking availability. So began an ambitious project to built his own recording studio. The aim was to have a studio that would incorporate the latest technology available. After many months of research and work the studio was finished and ready to produce more of Mark Hamlet’s unique brand of music.
